A diary of a girl

Hi guys,

Here's the link of Ann Frank's house. I thought you could take a closer look at the lives of the Franks during WW2. As you explore, appreciate the peace we have now and imagine how the people in Singapore must have also suffered. In about 3 weeks time, it is going to be Total Defence Day- consider the significance of that day as Singaporeans.

By the way, the photo above is a statue of Ann Frank. I took a photograph of it in Amsterdam when I visited the museum (her house) last year.

Writing A Book Review

Hi Everyone,

This is a contiunuation of the lesson today.

Your book review must include the following:
- The title and author
- Names of main characters
- What the story is about
- the most exciting part in the book
- Who you recommend the book to

A book report tells a reader about a particular book.
It often gives the writer’s opinion about the book.
To write a book report, follow the steps below:

Ø1. Choose a book to write about. You could write about a book in any genre or category: adventure, mystery,
fantasy, biography, fiction or
nonfiction.

Ø2. Take notes about the book using an idea organizer.

Ø3. Write an introductory paragraph. You may want to start with a question to get your reader interested. Be sure to include the title and author of the book and let the reader know what type of story it is: funny, exciting, scary or sad.

4.
ØWrite a paragraph summarizing the plot. Be sure to give the names of the main characters and tell a little about them. You may explain what is so funny/ sad/mysterious/scary about the story in the book.
Ø
Ø Be careful not to give away the ending!

Ø5. Write a paragraph that gives the reader your opinion of the book. Here you might want to write about
your
favorite part or what you learned or the most exciting part in the book.
Ø
6. Write a conclusion that lets the reader know if you recommend this book.
Tell the reader why he or
she should or should not read this
book.

7. Once you have finished your paper, be sure to review your writing.
